I see the Acer chromebook name changed again. Is this on Acer or Amazon?

Looks like the Acer AC700 Chromebook will ship "this month":

Does that mean it will ship in the next couple of days? Or does that mean it's already July at Acer's head quarters? :P

I just logged into Amazon to check my Acer Chromebook order. It's currently showing a delivery estimate of July 26, 2011 - August 10, 2011.

Guess I will have to play with my Samsung Chromebook until then.

I wonder if that's a conservative delivery date or if Amazon knows that they won't get the devices until then.

Hi Mulder,

My recent experience with Amazon regarding an accessory item where there were supposedly 3 in stock, was they said it would ship with free Amazon shipping.........Something like 5 to 8 days.

When a week went by and no e-mail about when this thing would ship, I contacted Customer Service online to ask what was up. They told me I could expect delivery in SIX WEEKS?? Uh, huh? What did I miss???

When I asked why it would take six weeks for a supposedly "in stock" item to ship, I got a vague answer. So, I cancelled.

SO, guess I'll believe it when I see it!!!!
